Privacy Policy
Effective 22 October 2026 · Türkçe
Night Cruiser is an iPhone game made by Hakan Pasinli, an independent developer who lives in Türkiye ("we", "us"). There is no company behind it. This policy explains what data the game and this website use, why, who else gets it, where it goes, how long it's kept and what you can do. The Turkish version says the same and is also our notice under Türkiye's data protection law (KVKK, Art. 10).
Data controller: Hakan Pasinli. Contact: nightcruiserapp@gmail.com
The short version
- There's no account to create, and the game has no server of its own.
- The game shows ads from Unity.
- In the EU and EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Türkiye, the game first asks your age, then asks adults whether ads may be personalized. Nothing goes to the ad service before you answer. If you say you're under 18, ads are never personalized.
- In the EU and EEA, the UK and Switzerland, there are no ads at all unless you allow them. In Türkiye, if you don't, you still see ads, but they aren't personalized.
- Wherever ads may be personalized, iOS also asks whether the game may track you (App Tracking Transparency). Ads are personalized, and Unity gets your device's advertising identifier, only if you allow it.
- Change your mind any time: in the game's Settings > PRIVACY, and for tracking in iOS Settings.
- Apple runs the daily board (Game Center), the backup of your progress (in your own iCloud) and the day's #1 ghost (iCloud).
- When you buy something, Apple takes the payment. Nothing about the purchase goes to Unity.
- To see or delete your data, email us. We answer in writing within 30 days.
1. On your phone
The game keeps these on your phone:
- your garage: cars, cash, upgrades, styles and stats;
- daily tasks and your streak;
- settings, your privacy choices and your answer to the age question;
- your best runs, as replays, and scores waiting to be sent to Game Center.
Deleting the app deletes them. Your iCloud backup (section 7) stays in your iCloud.
2. Ads
Night Cruiser is free and shows ads: videos between some runs, and reward videos you choose to watch. They come from Unity Ads through Unity LevelPlay, both run by Unity Technologies. REMOVE ADS or the STARTER KIT stops the ads between runs. Reward videos stay, so the ad service keeps running. In the EU and EEA, the UK and Switzerland, all of this happens only if you allow it (section 3).
To choose, show and count ads and to stop fraud, Unity receives data from your phone, including:
- your IP address and the country it points to;
- your iPhone's identifier for apps from this developer (IDFV);
- only if you allow tracking, your device's advertising identifier (IDFA);
- device details, such as model, iOS version, language, screen size and connection type;
- which ads you see and tap.
Unity's policy lists all the data it collects.
Tracking (App Tracking Transparency). Wherever ads may be personalized for you (section 3), iOS asks whether Night Cruiser may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. The game doesn't ask players it knows are under 18.
- If you allow it, Unity also gets your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and may link data from this game with data from other companies' apps and websites to personalize and measure ads.
- If you ask the app not to track, Unity doesn't get the IDFA, and the game tells Unity not to personalize your ads and that you've opted out of sale and sharing. You still see ads.
- Change it any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Unity decides how it uses ad data, as an independent controller, under its own privacy policy. It also uses the data to improve its services and, when personalization is on, to personalize ads. It may pass ad requests to the advertising partners listed in its policy: Unity Privacy Policy and Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.
3. Your ad choices
Where the game asks first: the EU and EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Türkiye (and some territories with the same rules), and whenever the game can't tell your country. It goes by your App Store country, or by your iPhone's region if that's unknown.
- First it asks your age: UNDER 18 or 18 OR OLDER. Your answer stays on this phone.
- If you're 18 or older, it asks whether ads may be personalized: ALLOW or DON'T ALLOW. If you allow, iOS then asks about tracking (section 2).
- The ad service doesn't start until you've answered.
- In the EU and EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and when the game can't tell your country: if you're under 18 or choose DON'T ALLOW, there are no ads at all. The ad service doesn't start, and there are no reward videos.
- In Türkiye: if you're under 18 or choose DON'T ALLOW, you still see ads, but they aren't personalized (contextual ads).
Everywhere else, the game doesn't ask first. iOS asks about tracking when you first open the game, and ads are personalized only if you allow it.
Apple's age range: where Apple's age-range feature applies, iOS may ask whether to share your age range with the game. If you share that you're under 18, ads aren't personalized, the game doesn't ask about tracking and it skips its own age question. In the EU and EEA, the UK and Switzerland, there are then no ads. Under 13, see section 16.
Change your mind any time in Settings > PRIVACY: turn PERSONALIZED ADS on or off, or, where the game asks your age, change your answer with CHANGE AGE. The game tells Unity at once; the change fully applies from the next time you open the game. If you said you're under 18, PERSONALIZED ADS stays off. In the EU and EEA, the UK and Switzerland, turning it off stops the ads at once. Tracking is in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Inside an ad: Unity's ads have a Data Privacy icon. Tap it to see what Unity holds about your device for this game, to opt out of personalized ads, or to ask Unity to delete that data. It's Unity's own tool.
Report an ad: Settings > PRIVACY > REPORT AN AD, or see Support.
4. Purchases
Apple takes the payment. We never see your payment details or your Apple Account.
- Apple tells the game what you bought and gives it a transaction ID. The game keeps recent transaction IDs on your phone, so each purchase is delivered exactly once.
- The game's purchase code (Unity IAP, from Unity Technologies) talks only to Apple. Nothing about your purchases goes to Unity or to us.
- Every in-app purchase has the app's age rating (13+).
5. Game Center
The daily board is a Game Center leaderboard: Apple's own service, under Apple's privacy policy.
- When the game starts, iOS may ask you to sign in to Game Center. You can play without it; you just aren't on the board.
- If you're signed in, the game sends your best score of the day to the board, with the car you drove and a random number that links the score to your ghost (section 6).
- Everyone on Game Center can see your nickname and score. The game shows the top 10, your own row and the number of players. Nothing from the board comes to us.
- Change your nickname, or sign out, in iOS Settings > Game Center.
6. The day's #1 ghost
The ghost is a replay you race against. When a run takes #1 on today's board, it's uploaded to this game's public database in Apple's iCloud (CloudKit), which Apple runs for us. The best of these runs is everyone's ghost for the day.
- When it's uploaded: only if your run is #1 on today's board, you're signed in to Game Center and iCloud, and Apple hasn't told the game you're under 13. If you beat your own #1 the same day, the new run replaces the old one.
- What's in it: the day, the score, the car, two numbers that identify the version of the game's driving rules, and your steering inputs. No name, no player ID, no device data. Apple adds the time and a technical ID of the iCloud user who created it; that ID is unique to this game.
- Who sees it: anyone who plays Night Cruiser can download it, with or without an account. Players signed in to Game Center see it with your nickname and rank, because your score carries the same random number. We can see it in Apple's CloudKit console.
- How long: only for that day (UTC). Once the day is over, the next player who opens the game while signed in to iCloud and Game Center deletes it, with any other ghosts from earlier days. Email us to have yours deleted sooner.
7. iCloud backup
If you're signed in to iCloud, the game keeps a copy of your progress (the same save as on your phone) in your own iCloud account, using Apple's iCloud key-value storage.
- It's updated after runs, right after purchases and when you leave the game.
- On a new phone with the same Apple Account, your progress comes back by itself. If both the phone and the backup have progress, the game asks which one to keep.
- We can't see, read or delete it. It stays in your iCloud account, under Apple's terms. Deleting the app doesn't delete it.
- Without iCloud there's no backup, and the game works the same.
8. Crash reports
The game has no crash reporter of its own. If you've chosen in iOS Settings (Privacy & Security) to share analytics with app developers, Apple sends us crash and performance reports from the game. They don't tell us who you are.
9. Notifications
If you allow notifications, the game schedules its reminders on your phone: when the new road is ready, and before your streak ends. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else. Turn them off in the game's Settings (NOTIFICATIONS) or in iOS Settings.
10. Emails to us
If you write to us, we use your email address and your message to answer you. Our mailbox is Gmail, run by Google. We keep emails as long as we need them to help you, and delete them within 2 years: once a year, we delete every email older than a year. For a privacy request, we also keep a short note of what you asked and how we answered, for the same time.
11. This website
This site runs on Cloudflare Pages. When you visit, Cloudflare's servers process your IP address and basic request details, such as the page and your browser, to deliver and protect the site, and keep technical logs. The site sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other sites.
12. Who gets your data, and where
Your data leaves Türkiye and goes to these companies, mostly in the USA:
- Unity Technologies (USA): ads (sections 2 and 3). Unity may store and process data in the USA, Israel and other countries where it or its service providers, such as Google Cloud, work. For data from the EEA and the UK, Unity uses the Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Apple (Apple Inc., USA; for the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Apple Distribution International, Ireland): payments, Game Center, the iCloud backup, the ghost and crash reports (sections 4–8). Apple chooses where it stores iCloud data. For data from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Apple uses the Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
- Google (USA): our support mailbox, Gmail (section 10). Google may store emails in the USA and other countries.
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA): this website (section 11), on servers around the world. For data from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Cloudflare uses the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the Standard Contractual Clauses.
We share data with these companies only so they can do their part, and they protect it at least as well as this policy does. For ads, Unity also decides how it uses the data, under its own policy. Ask us if you'd like details of the transfer safeguards. We don't sell your personal data.
Their policies: Unity, Unity for players, Apple, Game Center, Google, Cloudflare.
13. How long we keep it
- On your phone, including your age answer and ad choice: until you change it or delete the app.
- The age range from Apple: only while the game is open.
- The day's #1 ghost: that day (UTC); then the next player who opens the game deletes it.
- iCloud backup: in your iCloud account, under Apple's terms.
- Game Center: Apple keeps your nickname and scores as long as your Apple Account exists.
- Ad data: Unity decides, under its own policy.
- Crash reports: in Apple's developer tools, under Apple's rules.
- Emails: deleted within 2 years (once a year, we delete those older than a year).
- Website logs: with Cloudflare, under its terms. We keep no copies.
14. Purposes and legal bases
We use the data for the purposes given in each section. Where the GDPR (EU or UK) or Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) applies, we rely on:
- Our contract with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b); KVKK Art. 5(2)(c)): running the game and the features you use: purchases, the Game Center board, the ghost and the iCloud backup.
- Your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); KVKK Art. 5(1)): personalized ads and tracking, and, in the EU and EEA, the UK and Switzerland, any ads at all. You can withdraw it any time in Settings > PRIVACY, and for tracking in iOS Settings. That doesn't change what happened before.
- Our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f); KVKK Art. 5(2)(f)) in funding a free game and keeping it safe: ads that aren't personalized (outside the EU and EEA, the UK and Switzerland), counting ads, preventing fraud and running this website.
- Our legitimate interest in protecting young players: the age question.
- Our legitimate interest in helping players: answering your emails and, if you share them through Apple, using crash reports to fix the game.
- Our legal obligation (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c); KVKK Art. 5(2)(ç)): answering privacy requests.
For the data Unity uses for itself, Unity has its own legal bases (see its policy).
You don't have to give us any data. You can play without Game Center and without iCloud, and in the EU and EEA, the UK and Switzerland without ads. Elsewhere, ads always need the data in section 2.
The data is collected automatically, by the game and this website, and from you when you email us.
15. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU or UK GDPR, Swiss law, Türkiye's KVKK or US state laws), you can ask to see your data and get a copy, to correct or delete it, and to restrict or object to its use. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Under Türkiye's KVKK (Art. 11), you can also learn whom your data was transferred to, in Türkiye or abroad, ask that corrections and deletions be passed on to them, object to a result against you that comes only from automated analysis, and claim compensation for damage from unlawful processing.
How to ask
- Email nightcruiserapp@gmail.com and say what you want. Any email about your data counts as a request; there's no form.
- We answer in writing within 30 days, or sooner if your law requires it. It's free.
- We won't ask for an ID document. We may ask a question to find your data, such as the day you were #1.
- We hold very little: your emails and, if you were the day's #1, that day's ghost. The rest sits with Unity and Apple, under identifiers we can't see; use their ways below.
Unity's and Apple's own ways
- Ad data: tap the Data Privacy icon in an ad, or email Unity at DPO@unity3d.com.
- Game Center and iCloud: iOS Settings, or Apple at privacy.apple.com.
Complaints
- You can complain to your data protection authority.
- In Türkiye, write to us first. If we refuse, don't answer within 30 days, or you find our answer insufficient, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Board (kvkk.gov.tr) within 30 days of our answer, and no later than 60 days after your request.
16. Children
Night Cruiser is rated 13+. It isn't made for children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
- Where Apple's age-range feature applies, iOS may ask whether to share your age range with the game. If Apple tells the game that a player is under 13, the game doesn't start the ad service and doesn't upload their ghost. From 13 to 17, ads aren't personalized and the game doesn't ask about tracking.
- The game keeps the age range Apple gives it only while the game is open. It isn't saved or sent anywhere.
- US law (COPPA): for a player we know is under 13, the game collects no persistent identifiers outside Apple's own services. It sends that player no ad requests, and purchases go only through Apple (section 4).
- If you're a parent and think your child gave us data, email us. We'll delete what we hold and help you reach Unity and Apple.
17. US state laws
We don't sell your personal data. Under some US state laws, personalized ads can count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising". To opt out, turn off PERSONALIZED ADS in Settings > PRIVACY, or ask the app not to track (iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking). Either way, the game tells Unity not to personalize your ads and that you've opted out of sale and sharing.
18. Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top, and mention important changes in the game's App Store update notes.
